Medicine Is Not Candy
Today we distinguish the pictures medicine and candy while learning one boundary: medicine stays locked and is given only by an authorised caregiver according to medical directions.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 5 months old. Keep each guided activity to 3–8 minutes. Looking, pointing, holding up an empty stop hand, saying one word, telling an adult, pausing, or refusing all count. Do not offer medicine or candy for comparison, taste, sorting, or testing.

How to use it
Use only this A4 picture. Notice MEDICINE 药品, CANDY 糖果, and ADULT 大人, then model STOP 停下来, HANDS OFF 不碰, and TELL 告诉大人. Finish with one lock, two adult hands, and three warning circles.

- A trusted caregiver beside Amara.
Do not bring out medicine, vitamins, pill boxes, syringes, dosing tools, candy, or containers for the lesson.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
- “药品不是糖。”
- “药由照顾你的大人锁好。”
- “看到药，停下来，不碰，告诉大人。”
- “只有被授权照顾你的人按医生或药品标签要求给药。”
Do not say medicine is a “special sweet” or use candy as a reward after medicine.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Medicine is not candy.Stop. Hands off.Tell a caregiver.The adult keeps it locked.
Amara may only point to the lock or adult. She is not expected to identify medication types.
3. Early Math: One Lock, Two Adult Hands, Three Warnings
Time: 3–5 minutes.
- Touch the one lock once.
- Touch the two adult hands one at a time.
- Touch the three warning circles one at a time.
Do not count fingers, exclamation-mark parts, bottle details, or numerals.
4. Life Skill: Stop, Do Not Touch, Tell
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Point through the three safety cards once. Do not place a real container within reach or ask Amara to demonstrate resisting it.
Medicine Safety
All medicines and vitamins stay locked, out of sight and reach, in their original labelled containers. Only an authorised caregiver gives medicine according to a clinician's or label's directions. If Amara may have touched, tasted, or swallowed medicine, tell an adult immediately; the adult promptly contacts the local poison service or emergency medical service and follows expert instructions. Do not induce vomiting unless a professional directs it.
5. Everyday Adult Responsibility
Caregivers return medicine to locked storage immediately after every use and avoid taking it in front of a child when possible. Never ask Amara to carry, fetch, sort, or open medicine.
