Early Autumn Signs
Today we begin with sunlight, a leaf, and a breeze as possible things to notice. The aim is to look slowly, notice one detail, and share it through a point, movement, sound, or single word.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 5 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. A glance, point, copied movement, single word, clear “no,” or declining to continue is a valid response. The poster supports conversation; it is not a reading test and there is no required right answer.

How to use it
Print in colour on portrait A4 paper with “Fit to page” selected, or show it full-screen. Follow Amara’s gaze and talk about one card before moving naturally to another. There is no need to work from left to right or finish every card.
Seasons Are Not a Fixed Answer
The timing and appearance of early autumn vary with location, hemisphere, altitude, and that year’s weather. Evergreen plants may not change colour or drop leaves. Sunlight, leaves, and breezes can occur in every season, so these cards are possible observation examples—not rules for identifying a season. There is no need to take Amara out specially to find them.
Goals

- English: meet

- Early maths: connect 1, 2, and 3 with one sun, two leaves, and three clouds.
- Movement and life skills: share a discovery through reaching, swaying, or pointing and notice ordinary weather sensations.
Materials
- Only the A4 teaching picture above, printed or displayed full-screen.
- A small, dry, non-slip space if doing the movements.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Start with the picture she looks at first and use short Chinese descriptions:
- “阳光亮亮的。”
- “这是一片叶子。”
- “微风轻轻吹。”
Offer one easy invitation:
- “你看到哪一张？”
- “叶子在哪里？”
- “微风会怎么动？”
If she looks without speaking, follow her gaze and say, “你在看叶子。” Do not quiz her about colours, seasons, or names.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes, focused on listening, looking, and moving.

Use short chunks:
Look. Sunlight.A leaf.A gentle breeze.What do you notice?
Ask once and allow quiet wait time. If she answers with her eyes or body, do not require English repetition.
3. Early Maths: Seeing 1, 2, 3
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the main pictures in the bottom row:
- Point to 1: “一轮太阳。One sun.”
- Touch each of the two leaves once: “一、二。Two leaves.”
- Touch each of the three clouds once: “一、二、三。Three clouds.”
Model one round. Amara may copy, watch, or choose a favourite card. Do not test numeral recognition or speed.
4. Movement Game: Move Like a Breeze
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Move away from the screen and use a safe space:
- “Sunlight” — slowly open both hands.
- “Leaf” — stay balanced and let the hands float down.
- “Breeze” — sway the arms a little from side to side.
- Say “stop” and become still or sit together.
If she does not want to stand, moving one finger is enough.
Safety
Never look directly at the sun. “Find sunlight” does not mean running to a window, balcony, or outdoors alone. Keep movements small and stay away from sharp furniture, doors, and slippery flooring.
5. Everyday Observation and Life Skills
If one example occurs naturally during a safe routine, connect just one word:
- When a curtain becomes brighter: “有阳光，但眼睛不看太阳。”
- When you happen to see a fallen leaf: “一片叶子。”
- When the air moves gently: “微风来了。”
If none occurs, do not make a special outing or gather objects; the poster conversation is already enough.
Bedtime Recall
- “今天你看了阳光、叶子还是微风？”
- “哪一张会轻轻动？”

If she does not answer, model your own choice—“I remember the leaf”—and finish warmly.
