Review Adventure
Today we visit three friendly stations—words, numbers, and actions. We point, count, and do, while choosing only two or three brief memories from recent learning rather than turning review into a test.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 4 months old. Keep each guided activity to 3–8 minutes and stop earlier if she loses interest. Looking, pointing, counting with an adult, moving, or saying one word all count as meaningful responses. Review is for recognition, enjoyment, and connection—not checking what she can recite or read.

How to use it
Print in colour on portrait A4 paper with “Fit to page” selected, or show it full-screen. Let Amara choose a station: WORDS 词语, NUMBERS 数一数, or ACTIONS 做动作. Follow POINT 指一指, COUNT 数一数, or DO 做一做, and finish after two or three enjoyable prompts. No other teaching materials are needed.
Goals
- Chinese: understand 词语, 数一数, 做动作 and 指一指, 数一数, 做一做.
- English: meet and respond to
words,numbers,actions,point,count, anddo. - Review: reconnect with two or three representative ideas from recent days without requiring recall on demand.
- Early math: touch and count exactly 1 sun, 2 hands, and 3 stars.
- Movement and life: choose a station, do one familiar action, and finish successfully while still relaxed.
Materials
- Only the A4 teaching picture above, printed or displayed full-screen.
- A clear, non-slip place if Amara chooses an action review.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Describe the three top stations:
- “
WORDS是词语站。” - “
NUMBERS是数一数站。” - “
ACTIONS是做动作站。”
Then point to the middle row:
- “可以
POINT，指一指。” - “可以
COUNT，数一数。” - “也可以
DO，做一做。”
Ask: “你想先去哪个站？” A look, point, or movement is a valid choice. Do not require Amara to name every station.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

Use only a few short cues:
Choose a station.Point.Count.Do it together.
Do not ask for translation or complete sentences.
3. Early Math: Count the Bottom Row
Time: 2–4 minutes.
- Touch exactly 1 sun once:
one sun. - Touch exactly 2 hands one at a time:
one, two. - Touch exactly 3 stars one at a time:
one, two, three.
Each hand is counted as one hand; do not call the two hands “two pairs.” Each number word follows one complete icon. Numeral recognition is not required.
4. Choose Two or Three Review Prompts
Time: 3–8 minutes in total.
These are three representative memories from recent days. Follow Amara's choice and stop after two if that is enough:
- Opposite moves: ask
Fast or slow?, then do one chosen movement andStop. - Seed to flower: say
Seed, sprout, flower, then grow slowly and open the hands forbloom. - Bedtime order: mime
First, put away. Then, wash. Last, sleep.
One point, one word, or one action completes a prompt. Do not ask her to perform all vocabulary from the previous days.
Movement and Screen Safety
Move away from the screen before doing an action. Use only a few controlled steps on a dry, clear floor. Do not run towards furniture or ask Amara to close her eyes while standing.
5. Everyday Observation and Life Skills
Notice how Amara chooses:
- Does she point quickly to a favourite station?
- Does she prefer to listen, count with help, or move?
- Can she signal “again” or “finished” with a word, gesture, or by moving away?
Respecting finished is part of the activity. End with a simple routine: close the picture or put the printed page back in its usual place together.
Bedtime Recall
- “今天去了哪个复习站？”
- “最喜欢指、数，还是做动作？”
Words, numbers, or actions?- “明天还想再玩哪一个？”
Share an observation instead of testing: “I noticed you liked the growing action.”
