Me, You & Us
Me, You & Us
Today we explore me, you, and us. These words change with the speaker, while being “us” can still include comfortable personal space.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 6 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Looking, pointing to herself, looking towards an adult, using one word, pausing, or declining all count. Accurate pronoun use and physical contact are not required.

Goals
- Chinese: experience the changing references of 我, 你, and 我们.
- English: meet
me,you,us, and three short scene phrases. - Early maths: count one child, two people, and three people.
- Social-emotional learning: understand that togetherness does not require a hug, hand-holding, or close proximity.
Materials
- Only the A4 teaching picture and English audio.
- No mirror, photographs, dolls, or other objects are needed.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Point to yourself and say “我.” Gesture towards Amara with an open hand and say “你.” Then say “我们一起看图.” When the speaker changes, 我 and 你 exchange roles. Mixing them at this age is expected; model without correcting.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

Transcript: English time. Listen, look, or point. I am here. You are there. We are together. Me. You. Us. I can point to me. You can point to you. We can smile together. All done.
Point to yourself for me, gesture openly for you, and draw a loose circle around both of you for us. Amara need not copy.
3. Early Maths: How Many People?
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the bottom row: one child, two people, and three people. People can form a group even when there is comfortable space between them.
4. Movement and Everyday Connection
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Say “我在这里,” then indicate a pictured person and say “你在那里,” and finally “我们一起看.” Do not turn this into a rapid identification game.
Body Boundaries
Us and 我们 never require a hug, kiss, or held hand. Respect stepping back, turning away, saying no, or choosing not to join.
Bedtime Recall
- “Who says 我?”
- “What did we look at together?”
- Say
Me, you, us.slowly once.
