Little Rhyme Ears
Little Rhyme Ears
Today we listen to three English whole-word pairs: cat–hat, dog–log, and goat–boat. This is playful listening, with no letters and no pronunciation demand.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 6 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Listening quietly, looking, pointing to one picture, smiling, swaying, pausing, or declining all count. She does not need to judge whether words rhyme.

4. Movement and Everyday Connection
Time: 3–5 minutes.
After each complete word pair, gently sway one open hand from side to side. Amara may join, watch, or stay still. Keep the sound at ordinary speaking volume.
No Early Phonics Test
Do not show or ask about letters, say letter names, isolate initial or final sounds, or correct mouth shape and pronunciation. Listening to complete words is the whole activity.
Bedtime Recall
- “Which picture pair was fun?”
- Slowly say one pair:
Goat, boat. - If Amara does not respond, finish without another prompt.
