Week Two Sound & Story Review
Today we calmly revisit listen, pause, story, look, and choose without testing memory or listening performance.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 6 months old. Keep each part to 3–8 minutes and use only the two posters and audio. Looking, pointing, listening briefly, looking away, pausing, or declining are all valid. Choosing guides shared attention; there is no correct picture.

Goals
- Chinese: revisit “听、停、故事、看、选.”
- English: revisit
listen,pause,story,look, andchoose. - Early math: count 1 moon, 2 stars, and 3 circles on the main poster.
- Agency: choose cat, bus, rain, or none of them.
Materials
- The two A4 posters and English audio.
- No bells, loudspeaker, headphones, or sound toys are needed.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Say, “听一小段，可以停。故事可以一起看。” Then, “你可以看小猫、公交车、雨，也可以休息。” Follow Amara's gaze. Do not ask what she remembers hearing.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes at a quiet conversational volume.
Transcript:
English time. Listen, look, or point. Listen. Pause. Story. Look at the cat, the bus, or the rain. You may choose any picture. There is no right answer.
Pause at any time. Do not ask which word or picture appeared in the audio.
3. Math 1 / 2 / 3
Time: 3–5 minutes. Count only 1 moon, 2 stars, and 3 circles in the main poster's bottom row. Ignore book pictures and illustrated raindrops.
4. Movement & Life
Time: 3–5 minutes. The adult shows one gentle open-hand pause, then waits two seconds. Amara may copy or keep looking elsewhere. In daily life, accept a pause gesture and lower or stop an uncomfortable sound.
Listening Comfort
Do not use sudden, sharp, or loud sounds. This is not a hearing, memory, speed, or accuracy test. If Amara covers her ears, turns away, frowns, or says no, stop the audio and offer quiet.
Bedtime
Ask softly, “One picture, or rest?” Both choices are complete.
