More & All Done
More & All Done
Today we use more and all done to communicate continuing or stopping, so Amara experiences that a stop signal is noticed and respected.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 6 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Pointing, nodding, shaking her head, closing her hands, looking away, using one word, pausing, or declining all count. When all done appears, end that round.

Goals

- Executive function: experience the predictable sequence “one more, then stop.”
Materials
- Only the A4 teaching picture and English audio.
- No real book or reward item is needed.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Point across the top: “这个孩子还想看。”“这个孩子说够了。”“也可以先暂停。” Then point across the middle and say, “再看一页，然后停下.” Truly stop for a moment after 停下.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

Transcript: English time. Listen, look, or point. More story, please. All done with the story. More. All done. One more page. Then we stop. You can point to more or all done. All done.
Pause briefly after More and All done; listening or pointing is enough.
3. Early Maths: More Books
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the bottom row: one book, two books, and three books. Today is about communication, so Amara does not need to identify which set has “more.”
4. Movement and Everyday Connection
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Use an open hand for more and gently bring both hands together for all done. If Amara looks towards the all-done card or turns away, end: “I see that you are all done. We stop.”
Predictable Boundaries
Do not make more an unlimited promise or ask for “one more correct answer” after all done. Adults may set time and safety limits while still acknowledging the wish to continue.
Bedtime Recall
- “How can we show that we want to continue?”
- “How can we show that we want to stop?”
One more page. Then we stop.
