Two Words Together
Today we join two words into one small idea: red ball, cat sleeps, and more, please. The adult models the complete phrase. One word, a point, quiet, or a pause is already meaningful participation.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 7 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Looking, pointing, moving, saying one word, staying quiet, pausing, or declining all count. Use only the poster and audio; never require two words or imitation of the adult's pronunciation.

Goals
- Chinese: hear 红球, 猫睡觉, and 还想要 as clear little meanings.

- Language development: expand without correcting or turning two-word speech into a milestone test.
Materials
- Only the A4 teaching picture above, printed or displayed full-screen.
- The English audio below.
- No ball, cat, books, or other objects are needed.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Say, “一个红球。”“猫在睡觉。”“孩子还想看。” If Amara says only “球,” “猫,” or “还要,” expand once: “对，红球。”“猫睡觉。” Then continue without asking for repetition.
Panel three simply shows that a child may express wanting more. Do not withhold the next picture until she produces a complete phrase, “please,” or “thank you.”
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

3. Early Maths: 1, 2, 3
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the separate bottom strip: one complete ball, two complete cats, and three complete books. Do not count ears, tails, or pages.
4. Movement, Everyday Life, and Boundaries
Time: 3–5 minutes.
The adult may hold up two fingers, then tap the air twice to the rhythm of red—ball. Amara may watch, join once, or stop. In daily conversation, expand a spontaneous one-word message into two words without requiring imitation or correcting it on the spot.
Safety and Development
Two-word combinations are not a test. Never withhold a story, drink, food, comfort, or another need to elicit more, please. The adult offers rich language while Amara keeps her own communication pace.
