Names, Actions, and Objects Make Short Sentences
Today begins with complete but very short sentences. A name tells us who, an action tells us what happens, and an object adds what the action is about. The adult models naturally without turning the sentence into a quiz.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 8 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Looking, pointing, saying one word, staying quiet, pausing, or declining all count. Use only the poster and audio; do not ask for repetition, performance, eye contact, or touch.

Goals

Materials
- Only the A4 teaching picture above, printed or displayed full-screen.
- The English audio below.
- No ball, toy bear, cards, or other objects are needed.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Say slowly, “米娅滚球。”“诺亚抱着小熊。” Then add naturally, “名字告诉我们是谁，动作和物品告诉我们正在发生什么。” Say each sentence once and leave quiet time to look.
Amara may look at either picture, point to a person or object, say “球” or “熊,” stay quiet, pause, or decline. Do not ask “Who is doing what?” Correcting pronunciation or requesting the whole sentence is unnecessary.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

Transcript: English time. Listen, look, or point. Mia rolls a ball. Noah hugs a bear. A name can tell us who. An action can tell us what happens. An object can tell us what the action is about. One kite. Two hats. Three spoons. All done.
Play it once. The adult may point gently to the person, action, and object on the poster as the audio plays. Repeating is not a task.

3. Early Maths: 1, 2, 3
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the complete objects in the separate bottom strip: one kite, two hats, and three spoons. Move one fingertip while saying “one, two, three” once. Do not count people, text, or picture details.
4. Language Expansion and Boundaries
Time: 3–5 minutes.
The adult can model, “You said ‘ball.’ I heard you. In the picture, Mia rolls a ball.” This is a natural expansion, not a correction. If Amara turns away, pushes the screen away, or says no, respond, “You want to stop. We will stop.”
Development Note
Two-year-olds often participate with one word, a sound, movement, or gaze. Complete sentences are for the adult to model. Do not use scores, rewards, repeated drills, or comparison to push speech.
