A Short Sentence Can Include a Place
Today adds a place after a familiar person or object description: under the table and beside the bed. The place phrase describes a relationship visible in the picture; Amara does not need to find or arrange real objects.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 8 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Looking, pointing, saying one word, staying quiet, pausing, or declining all count. Use only the poster and audio; do not ask for repetition, performance, eye contact, or touch.

Goals

- No table, bed, book, positioning game, or other object is needed.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Say, “猫在桌子下休息。”“书在床边。” Then point to each whole relationship and add, “地点词告诉我们在哪里。‘下’要看猫和桌子的关系，‘边’要看书和床的关系。”
Amara may look at the cat, table, book, or bed; point anywhere; say “猫,” “下,” or “书”; stay quiet; pause; or decline. Do not cover part of the picture to test her, and do not ask her to demonstrate a position in the room.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

Transcript: English time. Listen, look, or point. The cat rests under the table. The book is beside the bed. A place phrase tells us where. One pillow. Two socks. Three apples. All done.
Play it once. The adult may move a finger gently along the cat–table and book–bed relationships. Do not require an answer to a location question.

3. Early Maths: 1, 2, 3
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the separate bottom strip: one pillow, two socks, and three apples. Match one number word to each complete object; do not count apple leaves or sock patterns.
4. Spatial Relationships and Boundaries
Time: 3–5 minutes.
On the poster, the adult may point from the cat to the table and then from the book to the bed while saying, “A place depends on the relationship between two things.” Amara does not need to move her body or copy a gesture. If she notices only the cat, simply say, “You are looking at the cat. It is under the table.”
Development Note
Words such as “under” and “beside” depend on a reference. Describe only the clearly visible relationship in this poster. Do not generalise one flat picture to every real setting or turn spatial language into a test.
