Animals Have Different Body Coverings
Today one A4 poster shows fur, feathers, and scales. They are parts of body coverings that can play different roles, and they vary across animals, body areas, and life stages.

Goals

- No feather, fur, fish scale, pet, or wild animal, and no texture comparison.
1. Chinese Picture Talk
Time: 3–8 minutes.
Follow Amara's attention and say, “这只兔子有毛皮。”“鸟有羽毛。”“很多鱼有鳞片。” Add, “覆盖不一样，作用也可能不一样。”
She does not need to name an animal or match every animal to one word.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

English time. Listen, look, or point. Many mammals have hair or fur. Birds have feathers. Many fish and reptiles have scales. These coverings can help protect a body and can play different roles, but they are not all the same. We look gently at pictures and do not touch an animal. One furry rabbit. Two birds. Three fish.

Do not imitate animal sounds or require Amara to touch her own hair for comparison.

Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the separate bottom strip: 1 furry rabbit, 2 birds, and 3 fish. Do not count textures or animal diagrams above.
4. There Is Not One Function Answer
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Use “can” and “may”: “一些毛可以帮助保温或保护。”“羽毛可以帮助保温、展示或运动。”“一些鳞片可以帮助保护身体。”
Do not say that feathers always mean flight or scales always mean living in water.
5. Animals and Developmental Boundary
Time: 3–5 minutes.
The poster offers a few familiar examples; it cannot represent every mammal, bird, fish, or reptile. Coverings vary with species, age, season, and body area.
Keep a Safe Distance from Real Animals
Do not chase, cuddle, pull fur or feathers, or touch unfamiliar, injured, or wild animals. Adults judge and manage contact, hygiene, and allergy risks. An animal moving away also communicates a need for space.
