Cover, Title, Picture, and Page
Today uses no physical book. Two A4 posters introduce four book concepts. Poster one labels cover, title, picture, and page; poster two helps the adult explain them accurately and briefly.
Today's Approach
Amara is about 2 years and 8 months old. Keep each activity to 3–8 minutes. Looking, pointing, saying one word, staying quiet, pausing, or declining all count. Use only the two posters and audio; do not ask for repetition, performance, eye contact, or touch.

Goals

- Only the two A4 teaching pictures above, printed or displayed full-screen.
- The English audio below.
- No physical book, paper, bookmark, page-turning practice, or other object is needed.
1. Poster One: See the Parts of a Book
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Follow the callouts and say, “这幅图显示书的正面封面。封面上的文字是标题。打开后的一个面叫页面，页面上可以有图画。” This is a picture of a book; Amara does not need to handle a real book today.
She may look at the whole image, point to any callout, say “书” or “画,” stay quiet, pause, or decline. Do not cover a label and ask her to guess its name.
2. English Time
Time: 3–5 minutes.

Transcript: English time. Listen, look, or point. Cover. Title. Picture. Page. We can learn book words from a picture. This picture shows the front cover on the outside. The title is the book's name. A page can hold a picture. One moon. Two boots. Three pears. All done.
Play it once. The adult may point to each matching callout. Do not pause to wait for naming.

3. Poster Two: Explain the Concepts
Time: 5–8 minutes.
Say slowly, “正面封面在书的外侧。标题是书的名字。页面可以承载文字或图画。” A title does not necessarily tell the whole story. A picture may carry information but does not necessarily replace all text.
It is fine if Amara looks at only one poster. The adult need not demonstrate page turning or ask her to point to all four parts in order.
4. Early Maths: 1, 2, 3
Time: 3–5 minutes.
Count only the separate bottom strip of main poster 1: one moon, two boots, and three pears. Point once to each complete object; ignore moon texture, laces, and pear leaves. Poster 2 has no counting task.
Concept Note
“Cover” may refer to the book's outer covering, including front and back; today's poster explicitly shows the front cover. A page is one surface in a book that carries content. Use accurate descriptions without turning labels into memorisation targets.
